Q: I have a 2008 6.4 F250 powerstroke. Losing coolant and engine is shutting down. Exhaust is blowing all kinds of smoke! I'm no not sure what's going on. Can you give me some advice? - Brian

A: Hi Brian,

I'm going to guess from the info you gave that you have an egr cooler blown and leaking coolant into the engine.  If it is bad enough it will choke out the engine and cause hydrolock.  Obviously putting a scan tool on to double check that you don't have a bad injector or something else happening would be a good idea too.
