Q - 2008 f350 super duty, 6.4 diesel. Drives great, but when I stop there is white smoke coming out of the hood on passenger side, something burning on exhaust. No signs of oil leaking on ground there is oil residue on oil pan. No smoke coming out of tail pipe.
A - I would check the valve cover bolts to make sure they are tight. I would also take a look at the plugs that go through the valve cover for the glow plugs. If either of those items becomes loose it can drip oil onto the exhaust manifold and cause it to smoke light that.
